Lori’s diner, San Francisco, 2016. (Scotty? Prepare to warp)
Sunset at my sister-in-law’s country house. Interior of Colombia. c.2015. (Sir? Haven’t you said you don’t much like sunset photos? I have. Said that. Scotty. Photos do poor justice to any sunset.) ๐
Vincennes Zoo, Paris. End of the 20th century. The last two polar bears alive after global warming. (Jump, Scotty, jump!)
Ceremonial door, West Africa. Dahomey/Benin maybe? Mid 20th century probably. De Young Museum, San Francisco, 2016. If you ever go to San Francisco, forget about the flowers in your hair, make sure you spare some time to visit this fantastic museum, in the Golden gate park. And don’t be fooled, the park is nowhere near the bridge.
Triceratops, Tlapan, Mexico. 2017. (Scotty! Real dinosaurs, please, not plastic!)
Washington, D.C. 2015. Before the Tramp. Sigh. How long till mid-term?
“Public transpot”, West Africa, early 21st century. Musรฉe de l’Homme, Paris, 2017. Anybody noticed two R’s missing?
Individual transport. Mexico city. 2018.
Piccadilly circus, 2016.
Paris, near Beaubourg, 2015. “Come discover the yo(u)ng salad and our new dessert to share.”
The garden in Nairobi, c. 1969. A perfect combination English garden/tropical luxuriance/Kikuyu grass. The gardener, Lipoy, a Luo from Lake Victoria in the North was an artist. (Days when one took several shots in a row to produce a panorama.)
“Hello, ask for my little Kriek (cherry) Lambic (beer). Sudden death, est. 1686″. Paris, 2017. “Mort subite” is well-known Belgian beer.
Traditional analog camera, 1969. Some initiates on Earth used to carry those around the neck to perform acts of black and white magic. The most advanced actually captured colour representations of the overworld. With accessories, the combined weight of those cult artefacts could reach close to ten pounds.
Thank you for flying Equinoxio Time-Space shuttle. Scotty still owes you real dinosaurs.
All photos and text (c) BMO and Equinoxio. (Haven’t said that in a while) ๐ Y’all be good.
I rather like TRANS-POT, sort of like a transexual high.
Haha! Yes, it may be. Good to see you Janet. Haven’t visited in a while. No excuse. Will make up to you. Hope all is well?
Paris.
Pas de quoi.
As-tu commencรฉ ร prendre la vitamine B?
๐
20 jours avant, ce sera samedi !
Merci, Brieuc, et un trรจs bel aprรจs-midi ร toi.
Merci. De mรชme. A +
I was so with you two — right up till the last three words! ๐
Last three words? last three words? Oh. That. ๐
I speak three English dialects. British English. American. And Southern. ๐
Take care.
I lived in the South for a while. Can’t say I learned to speak it with any fluency, but do appreciate it’s music โบ
Did you now? Which part? I went to Alabama (where the sky’s always blue). To be honest, I thought I spoke English but I could not understand a word in class or elsewhere for 3 weeks. So Ah had ter learn the language. Bless mah soul. ๐
Um, well, let’s see… In Texas, Dallas and Austin; in Louisiana, Baton Rouge and Vidalia; in Mississippi, Jackson and Natchez… They kept trying to tell me I was the one with the accent — and I guess, around there, I was!
Well, you sure ‘been around. Jackson Miss’sipi? Lu-zee-ana? ๐
Yeah, in “Alabamer” they too told me I had an “accint”. ๐
What were you doing in so many places south of the Mason-Dixon line?
Followed my ex husband in from California and then found myself divorced and stranded there. No joke, bro ๐
Ooops. Well, there is a Mexican saying that goes “mรกs vale solo/a que mal acompaรฑado/a” Better alone than in bad company. ๐
Oh, you KNOW it, brother! ๐
๐
I am also a mzungu, if that means anything to you? ๐
Oh, dammit, sure rings a bell, just can’t remember WHICH bell…
๐
Appreciate your eye for the kitsch.
Had to go back. though kitsch was not the intent of that pot-pourri, I can see what you mean. Be good.
A lovely potpourri from around the world, thank you for sharing dear Brian. Be well, be happy!
Thank you Coeur de Feu, on all counts. Will do my best to.
(Same to you)

The original Lori’s Diner, the one you visited in the summer of 2016, closed its doors in January of 2017. There are two other locations but the nostalgia of the original remains.
My dear Soleil, you have an impressive memory. ๐
How sad that the place closed. It was really a gate to the Twilight zone. ๐ฆ
Wishing you well. A bientรดt.
Yes, Scotty definitely owes us real dinosaurs! (Maybe just an iguana or two if youโre light on time travelling fuel). Yes, to one missing โrโ – transpot. Maybe didnโt look hard enough for tโother.
I do have a few iguanas in stock. ๐
The other R is missing on the very bus. It is the same word in French as in English. “TranspOt commun”. ๐
Oh, yes. Now I see it.
I can add two blue tongue lizards (they live in my garden) to your iguanas and we have a miniature Jurassic Park. Take that Scotty! We donโt need you anymore! ๐
Blue tongue lizard? Interesting. Never seen those. But then, I know the wildlife in Oz is totally different.
Yes, indeed it is!
Just looked them up. They are quite large. And can be handled. Hmmm.
I have done that but they donโt like it. I leave them be now.
Your best option with wild animals. (How would we feel if a 20 metres tall giant were to pick us up and say: “they’re so cute”?)
Even more determined to let them be when you put it that way!!!
๐
Dear Brian, good morning! I enjoyed this pot-pourri very much. I must tell you I’m particularly taken with the spectacular garden in Nairobi and the panorama. I’m also impressed with the car hood photo, very much like the world of artist, Brian M. Viveros. The sunset photo is wonderful too, I love all things captured in silhouette. Thank you for a fun trip this morning. I hope the week has been good to you so far, wishing you well. ~ Mia
Morning to you too Mia. Glad you enjoyed the trip. That is the purpose. ๐ Had to look up Viveros. Hadn’t heard of him. Now I can see what you mean. The garden in Nairobi was spectacular. There was a wild hedgehog living there I caught once. Ever so gently. Once in a ball they’re easy to pick up with open palms. Then you wait until they unfold. Cute little fellow. Called him Hector.
Take good care of yourself.
B.
Hector sounds like he was a delightful hedgehog. Have a lovely evening, Brian. Take good care too! ๐
๐
Ah, this is lovely. And Iโm in love with that camera ๐ท
Glad you liked the post. Et cette camรฉra? Ahhh. Elle a remplacรฉ mon Instamatic. Au Kenya. Tu peux imaginer…
Stunning… such cool pics. Thanks for sharing with us. Love and best wishes, across the miles ๐๐
Thank you. Likewise.
Uds ya van para invierno, vdd? ๐
Yes, getting into winter soon… ๐ฌโ๏ธ Happy weekend to you โจ
I love the African bus
Il est gรฉnial, n’est-ce pas? ๐
The only drawback was that they put it in too small a room. Not enough distance to take a good shop. Tsss… Glad you liked it.
Selamat pagi kawan saya
Love your panorama and your politics. Hug from Hell-Ville ๐
Er, my politics? (I try not to delve too much in those) Ah. The “Tramp”? I really should say the Crook. Guy is leading us to WWIII. I swear. Stay in “Hell-ville” โค
Another fun trip down memory lane, Brian. I can only find one missing ‘R’ though. What am I missing?
The bus says “Transpot en commun”. And my… caption says “public transpot”. ๐
Mort Subite…jโadore. ๐
๐ It’s a classic. A rather strong,tasty beer. And a great brand name.
