A fantastic post by Resa et al on the war. Don’t miss it. (Though many of you have already seen it.) 🇺🇦
Each pic of sunflowers has a poem, song, opinion or photo essay behind it. Click on the pic to see what some of our creative friends on WP offer in support of Ukraine.
Above is Holly – House of Heart‘s poem, Sunflowers. She wrote it special, for a post I did on Art Gowns. Behind the “Sunflower Power”image above, is her poem written out.
If you think something about the above looks like Merril -Historical Musings, I agree. Behind this pic you will find her post w/poem “Ghost Light”, written in the wake of – “Russian forces had bombed a theatre in Mariupol that was sheltering many children and elderly civilians.”
Click on the above & you will go to Brian’s blog, Equinoxo 21. See his excellent photo journal essay “Svoboda. Liberté. Freedom”
Tim wrote a parody to “Purple Haze”titled “Ukraine Daze”. It cuts…

I agree. It’s wonderful. ❤
Resa’s excellent post definitely calls for reblogging and sharing!
I does. There is so much talent on WP, isn’t there? 👏🏻

Tienes que picar en las imágenes.
Thank you for being a part of this post, Brian! Also, thank you for the reblog! Let’s keep the message alive!
Yes. I read the French news every night or so. And every day brings new accounts of atrocities…
Sic!
I love this post, I tried to leave a message on your blog Resa and askimet won’t let me so I wanted to let you know that thanks to Brian I can let you know thank you for the awareness and sharing such an important message through beautiful art.
It is a fantastic post. Some WP limitations are weird aren’t they? I hope Resa got the message…
Love and peace, dear Charlotte!
Yes! Yes! it worked! 😉
xoxo
Art can be a great tool to create awareness. It is sad that this awarenes if of a devastating war. And now we hear of more details of war crimes. It is heartbreaking.
It had to come out. One day. You can’t bomb cities day and night for weeks without killing – many – people.
An upsetting facet of war- ethnic cleansing/retribution/genocide.
Man is a brute. Programmed to kill. Well. We enjoyed nearly 80 years of “peace”. I guess we’re gonna have to fight again…
Hmm. We were lucky to live in that 80 years, although I see it as only 45 odd years (there was Vietnam).
True. There have been many conflicts here and there. But this is the greatest threat since 1945. Berlin blocus or Wall not withstanding.
In a global sense – yes, absolutely this is the greatest threat!
How fortunate we were to have the late 20th century as our most formative years.
Yep. We have been lucky. Let’s see what happens now. My dear Astrid, I feel like with been “Whatsapping” across time (you’re Tuesday morning and I’m still Monday evening.) and the globe. Quite nice.
But I will have to leave you now. Dinner to prepare…
I just said the same thing about whatsapping…enjoy your dinner!! Tell me later what you are cooking?
Thank you. No cooking. Just cereals. I had a large grilled steak for lunch.
Nice….
And still our Russian ambassador is insitu
Ha! I say the same. France recalled our Ambassador to the US (and maybe OZ, not sure any more) over the sorry submarines affair. And our Ambassador is still in Moscow? Give me a break!
That is right. France did recall its Aussie diplomatic presence that and then Biden had a chat to the French and patched things up. They returned. But over such a thing! Why not this! Are they frightened of enraging Putin.
See? We recall our Ambassador over a contract. And not over war? I don’t know what’s on their mind.
It is crazy and dare I say, petty?
In the case of P*tin, I find it cowardly. In the submarine case… “much ado about nothing”?
Agreed
I understand Germany and France are about to expel Russian diplomats. About time.
Finally. I wonder whether we will follow soon. An election is brewing so they may wait til that has passed.
Campaigns, campaigns… The first round of the French election is on Sunday. Practically none of the candidates has adjusted his/her campaign to the coming war… Idiots.
(at least 200 Russian “diplomats” have been kicked out from Europe as of last night. Yeah!)
Things are moving then, to pressure Russia.
Hopefully.
Merci pour cette visite et ce commentaire. 🙏🏻
normal, beau ce billet consacré aux tournesols !
