If you’re going to San Francisco… make sure you go to Haight St. And Mission St, and 24th St… Plenty of street art for amateurs. There we go:
Laureline (?) looking for Valérian on Haight St.
Are you listening? I mean, really?
Joplin, Hendrix, Garcia… We are grateful to those Dead. Thank you for the music you gave us when you left in a hurry.
Haight St. Piercing anyone?
Don’t mess with me. I am Kali the Divine Mother, the Night of Death. (In Swahili, Kali means evil, bad…)
Haight St again. Be ready, they’re adding the 90’s next week. (Did people really dress like that?) 🙂
Unfortunately the bottom half of this mural was covered with grey paint. The building manager maybe was not consulted on the tag.
At a bookstore on 24th St. I was surprised at how few bookstores there were in San Francisco.
Tacos al pastor, anyone?
Pepé le Pew on Haight and Ashbury.
On this fragrant note… The Captain and crew once again thank you for walking Equinoxio Spaceways with us and wish you a lovely week-end.
Great wall art… I can’t remember seeing any street art when there in 2010; but then, I wasn’t looking for it either (so much to see). I really related to ‘I was surprised at how few bookstores there were in San Francisco’. Same has happened here in Australia; however, I’ve noticed a few popping up here and there; thank goodness.
Yes, even in New York or Paris, bookstores are dying. A shame. Glad you liked the art, Carolyn. All well Down Under?
Yes, thank you, Brian. Life is good, and getting better! 🙂
Love the vibrat colors of these street arts! Would love to see them myself..
Selamat malam, Indah. San Francisco is only a few hours away form where you guys are. Worth a week-end trip. (Don’t know how the weather is right now, but I guess it can’t be as cold as Minesota or wherever you are. (St-Louis, Missouri?)
Oh gosh, not Missouri..now I am in Minneapolis, a city in Minnesota 🙂
Minneapolis! That’s what I was looking for. I knew you were up there (in the cold) but wasn’t quite sure which city. Apa kabar Indah?
Wow! beautiful pieces of art 🙂
xo
It was very nice. I really liked San Francisco. Despite the cold and wind and fog! 😉
This is like: we love live despite…. everything :))
Well, here’s another way to look at it: Life is really the only thing we have. 🙂 Sooo. Better make the best out of it. 🙂
Indeed, Brian. Life can be very beautiful only if we want to be so 🙂
We tend to forget that sometimes. 🙂
Ever seen ‘American graffiti’? It’s not about street art but it may offer an answer on whether people really dressed like that. 😉 Or not. But that vintage ad panel reminded me of this movie. 🙂
I wonder if Kali Linux is really that bad. And in what way(s). But I’m not gonna listen to that wall, it’s a liar. 😛 😀
Haven’t seen the movie, just bits and pieces. Kali Linux is a Linux-based programme? And the liar-wall was a great find! Thank you. made me smile. All well with you?
Oh, I’m coughing much better now – I’ve been training at it for the last week. 😀
That movie has a je-ne-sais-quoi, maybe because it’s about life at its simplest. It’s not in the least a work of art but it’s worth seeing a young Dustin Hoffman and Harrison Ford, if anything. 🙂
Kali Linux is a Linux distribution specialised in digital forensics and penetration testing. In this case it’s good to be bad…? 🙂 Speaking of Harrison Ford, I remember Kali being mentioned in one of his Indiana Jones movies where a hidden tribe assumed extinct were still worshiping her.
Glad to have brought a smile to your face. Hope it lasts. 🙂
It certainly lasts. I enjoy our exchanges my friend. I will see if I can download the movie. The Kali worshippers were called thugs if I recall.
Always a pleasure for me too, Brieuc. 🙂
I’m very bad at history but sometimes I remember bits and pieces from movies. The Indiana Jones series were fun. Hope you find the right one. 🙂
Will let you now. Take care.
Love the talent. Hugs
Thank you. Much obliged.
Thank you Captain. I shall take the flight again, although I was not impressed by the lack of biscuits.
Thank you Adela for your feedback. The person in charge has been exiled to Middle-Ages England (when the food was even worse); more precisely to Hastings, September 1st 1066. No return.
Good. I have no sympathy for them if they get it in the eye! Biscuits are important.
Totally understood. We had a board meeting last night about the biscuit issue.
Thank goodness you appreciate the importance of this, especially in the mixed up world of today.
Glad we are on “the same page”. (Where do they come up with expressions like that). As soon as the biscuit issue (Pronounced SSS, not SHHH) is resolved we will hold another board meeting on scones. Can’t leave them out, can we?
I’d like to attend the one on scones if I may. I’d like to put forward a suggestion that we call them SHHHcones.
I’ve passed on your application to the Shhhcone department. (Have a lovely week-end my dear Rebecca) (Or is it Daphne?)
Of course, there’s that famous saying, “Walls have ears”. It’s only right we should listen back.
And the words of the prophet are written on subway walls and tenement halls? 🙂
Reblogged this on Journal Edge and commented:
Must Read This Blog Post 🙂
Thank you again. You must be in Seychelles by now?
No , not now, Now I am in India 🙂
j’adore SF aka Frisco… been there 4 times, last time en juin-dernier, et le mois prochain, “SF” is gonna come over her… 😉
Good. Welcome to “SF”. 🙂
Love the Haight. There are some good eats in that area of you can put up with all the bums.
The poor bums are “all right”. Lost in their world. Not aggressive at all. I just find it a shame that we can’t find a solution to… lend them a hand. It is difficult, they’re so schizo most of them… And there are so many. But the streets were great. Be good.
COOL!
Thank you Kamila. Glad you liked it.
